ABOUT FAST FASHION
The physical outcome of this project will be divided into two collections of already existing clothes, that will be edited by the collective effort of the creative team: the permanent collection and the temporary one.

The permanent collection will be sourced from
a selection of donated or thrifted garments, coming from different countries chosen between the ones most afflicted by the fashion industry.

My aim will be to deconstruct them, finding as much information as possible about where were those pieces made, who manufactured them, what is life like in those countries.

How is the territory geographically? What language do its people they speak? What god do they pray? What myths and legends are their bedtime tales?
I will find as much as I can, and edit the garment according to the individuality of the country from which it comes from, by translating the research into a visual essay that will take the shape of patches, and painted or embroidered designs.

The next and final step will be to place these additions on the inside part of the piece of clothing, as a representation of its hidden story.
The temporary collection could be seen as a simplified ed version of the permanent one, as I will go through the same creative process, but rather than displaying the complete picture of the visual essay, I will select a single small design to place in a less visible area of the garment.

The main difference from the other collection will be in its purpose: when the pieces are completed, I will attach on them a label that identifies the project, then I will donate them to a charity shop in order to put the clothes back into the circulation and spread the idea behind Sharp Threads.

Ideally, the people who encounter them will see the added patches and realise that there has been an intervention, and finding the label they will discover the project and, hopefully, be inspired by the idea behind it.

The labels will bring whoever encounters the clothes to an Instagram page, which will serve as a visual introduction to the project and a gateway to the website, where they will find more in-depth information about the concept and ethical fashion.
